Campaign Friends and Supporters Update #22Michelle Sanche2026-07-14T01:27:53+00:00
April, 2026
Dear Friends and Supporters of the Rebuilding Our Church Campaign,
Here is some big news about what’s happening and what’s next for Holy Rosary Cathedral Renewal.
Phase 2: Spires, Towers and North Façade
We are very happy to report that the contract for the urgent spires replacement portion of Phase 2 has been awarded and signed!
While we were hoping the spires could be replaced this year, this complicated work will take more time than expected. PCL Construction Management will begin behind-the-scenes preparatory work this year, and will remove, rebuild and replace the spires starting next January and finishing by the end of 2027.

Construction costs will be higher than we had budgeted, and as a result, we have an approximate funding shortfall of $500K for this project. We are full of gratitude to those of you who have financially supported the majority of this effort so far, and we are hoping more will be ‘inspired’ to share donations or pledges so that this major component of the Cathedral Renewal can be fully funded.

We also celebrate our dedicated teams of volunteers, who are helping our professionals work efficiently and cost-effectively.

There are still more components of Phase 2: exterior belfry work, towers masonry and rose window repairs. Find more details HERE.
Phase 3: Infrastructure and Lower Level Renewal
Would it be possible to renew and repair Holy Rosary’s failing electrical, heating, plumbing and ventilation systems in 2027 too? Detailed construction drawings are underway for this phase, and are expected to be ready by this fall. As more donors step forward to support this work, our teams will do their best to ensure that it can proceed in 2027 if at all possible. Funds received to date total $1.475M towards the estimated $4M needed for completion.
Spring Campaign

The Archdiocese is beginning a public spring campaign to invite all to consider supporting the Cathedral Renewal as well as other important archdiocesan initiatives. There will be a mailing soon, and announcements in parishes until the end of June. We are hopeful that those who haven’t yet had the chance to share a gift or pledge will choose to take the opportunity. Also, some who donated in the early years of the Campaign may offer a second gift or restart their completed 5-year pledge.

Gratitude
To all of our donors, thank you! There is a Book of Gratitude in the foyer of Holy Rosary Cathedral (and also HERE) listing the names of early supporters of the Rebuilding Our Church Campaign.
We are now preparing a new section for this book including the 250+ donors (individuals, couples, families and organizations) who together gave and pledged over $1.93M in 2025.

Some donors have indicated whether they wanted to be named or anonymous and some have not. If you gave a gift or made a pledge in 2025, please take a look at the draft HERE to ensure that your name is listed correctly. Contact Michelle Sanche at [email protected] with any corrections by May 22.
In faith, hope and thankfulness,

   Your Campaign Team

Archbishop Don Bolen, Lisa Polk, Michelle Sanche, John Dipple, Mo Bundon, Samy McCarthy, Garth Herbert and James Lipoth
